Mr. Michael Bozumbil

Mr. Bozumbil has been the Chief Executive Officer of PETROSOL Ghana Ltd since 2006, when it was founded by him as a petroleum business management and consulting firm.

Through diligence and strategic partnership, he successfully migrated the business from consulting to an Oil Marketing Company in 2014 and has since led his team to successfully grow the company from its small beginning to become one of the leading Oil Marketing Companies in Ghana, focused on meeting the needs of consumers. Through his insistence on best practice, PETROSOL is known as a value-for-money brand, as it insists on delivering clean fuel in full quantity to its customers.

With over twenty-five (25) years’ experience in petroleum downstream business management starting from fuel retail outlet management through field operations supervision to senior level management and consultancy, he has a fine blend of experience which cuts across various categories of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) — multinational, Pan-African and indigenous/Ghanaian--which he uses to provide leadership and direction to team.

A passionate advocate of and believer in ethical business conduct, win-win business relationships and best practices, he coaches and guides his team to live such values and to aim at nothing but the best, notwithstanding the challenges they encounter as a private indigenous company. This is because he believes that quality or excellence has no nationality.

Under his leadership, PETROSOL has received triple International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification. These are ISO 9001: 2015–Quality Management System; ISO 14001:2015–Environmental Management System and ISO 45001: 2018–Occupational Health & Safety Management and has also won several corporate awards and recognition.

Mr. Bozumbil has over the years received a number of personal awards for his leadership, some of which are: Estimable Industry and AOMC Leadership Award by the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (2021), the Osagyefo Young Leadership Award by the Ghana Energy Awards (2020), the Oil & Gas Personality of the Year 2019 (Downstream), Oil & Gas CEO of the Year 2018 (Downstream) at the Ghana Oil & Gas Awards and the Chamber Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016, by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mr. Bozumbil previously served as the Managing Director, Pacific Oil Ghana Ltd; Head of Marketing, Nasona Oil Company Ltd; Marketing Representative/Territory Manager, Oando Ghana Ltd; and a Station Manager under Shell Ghana Ltd and played a key role in growing these companies and won a number of awards for his contribution to the growth of these companies. He has also consulted for a number of Oil Marketing Companies in Ghana.

Mr. Bozumbil plays leadership roles in the Ghanaian business community. He is a Council Member of the Ghana Employers’ Association and also a Council Member of both the National Council and the Accra Regional Council of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

He also served as the Vice Chairman of the Governing Board of the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMC) for two consecutive terms from October 2016 to November 2020 during which period he represented the AOMC at the level of the Private Enterprise Federation (PEF), the national apex body of Ghana’s business community. He also previously chaired the Legal & Ethics Committee as well as served as a member of the Strategic Oversight Committee of the AOMC.

He is a product of the GIMPA Business School, Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration (MBA-Marketing), the University of Ghana Business School (MA, Marketing Strategy—Entrepreneurship & Brand Management) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Sociology from the University of Ghana as well. He had his high school education at the Bolgatanga Senior High School (BIG BOSS) and the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon.
